From course commencement, our Integrated Programme delivers training based on airline operating principles, so encouraging the development of multi-crew resource and co-operation skills. Commercial and economic values are also included providing a full awareness of what the graduate pilot should expect, when acting as a First Officer.
Flight Operations and Recruitment staff from all the major UK airlines are also invited to visit Cranfield regularly. They will frequently ask to address the students in order to acquaint them with developments and employment requirements relating to their own airline. Similarly, we invite First Officers recently graduated from the course, to return and provide a valuable insight into the work of a professional pilot.
On completion of the final simulator session in the Integrated programme, students will attend a two-day Airline Preparation Course. This session is conducted by current airline training staff (including pilots) involved in the recruiting process for their companies. They have first hand experience in interviewing candidates and matching them to specific company profiles.
Information is provided over a series of lectures and presentations ranging from the completion of application documents to airline simulator assessment. An inter-active approach is adopted throughout the course with candidates taking part in role-play, interviews and group exercises. The experience gained from attending this short course significantly enhances the chance of success at airline selection.
The Integrated Programme has an excellent reputation for providing high quality pilots to airlines. With training completed to a required standard, senior Cabair staff assist the graduate in preparing for airline interview. A detailed course report is compiled by the Head of Training, with CV writing guidance provided as part of the Airline Preparation Course. These documents are merged and forwarded to those airlines requiring recommendations from the College.
Cabair Integrated has developed strong contacts with all UK and certain overseas airlines in order to keep fully abreast of recruitment initiatives. Several airlines are currently asking for automatic monthly recommendations, with others making such requests when the need arises.
Care is taken to ensure that those graduates recommended to specific operators are well prepared for the appropriate interview and assessment profiles. With such attention, our graduates have the best possible chance of securing the all-important First Officer position and serve as excellent ambassadors for the Cabair Integrated product.
